Brightneedle SAL

A few stitchers from Stitching Smalls SAL are working on Brightneedle freebies this month. I chose Bunny Hop Scissors Fob; A Companion Piece to Tall Trees Pincushion. A Brightneedle Design by Liz Knudsen & Ann Pettit. c.2002

It is 25w x 25h using six DMC floss colors. The pattern calls for 40-count Light Expresso linen by R&R Reproductions. I don't have enough #3013 or #3768 to finish them into fobs. (Oh darn, may have to go out shopping)

I stitched two last night .... remember they are quite small with 25x25 stitch count. One is on 32ct Antique Ivory AND the other is on 36ct Edinborough Rue Green. The Tall Trees pincushion will have to go on my wish list. Would be fun to stitch don't you think?

Why are 12oz. of Kellogg's Corn Flakes $2.75 while 5 lbs of Idaho potato are $2.49? Think the boys would mind eating a potato for breakfast instead of cereal?

Nice job on those tiny little Brightneedle freebies. They are so cute! I couldn't even bring myself to comment on your previous post. The "art" that he created was just so ugly and meaningless...

And yes, the price of cereal is a total rip-off! :)

Now that's what I call small! Very, very sweet!
I have had to cut down on the amount of cereal we eat around here too. I end up making pancakes 3-4 times a week. My boys are big breakfast eaters!

This is the next one I will do - that bunny is so darn cute!

I have tall tress and it's a lovely design!

There was a story on the national news a couple of years ago where they researched the price of cereal and discovered that the cost is mostly marketing overhead! A box of cereal should cost about .50!!! Better watch those Saturday morning cartoon commercials. That's where our money goes!

I would have a potato for breakfast! I love potatoes!

Cute, cute fobs!

Cereal or potato? I'd rather have toasted bread, really...
These are exquisite beautifully stitched pieces. I went through all the links about dismantled samplers, and I am absolutely horrified! It's a shame! I am more and more thinking of stitching for heirloom, and I know that you've done it for years, and I'm revolted to see the lack of respect some people have.
Anyway, with communication about this, we might possibly avoid it...
Take care!

These are really cute! And, you are right about the cereal, although I must say that we eat pretty healthy cereal around here (we avoid the sugar stuff!)
