Mentor in Action ...

How about this project?

Last Tuesday, our son, Nicholas, spotted a "kit" at hobby lobby. He decided on the spot that he wanted to learn how to stitch on evenweave. I'm like ok .... and suggested a smaller kit ... a learning kit. He would not have it. It was THAT kit or he'd stick with knitting (and he is a fine scarf knitter - IMO)

Once home, I got out some linen scraps and floss. Within a few minutes he got the hang of it. He had very few questions. Fast forward to today ... look at his progress:

Wow! That's great for a beginner. I don't even know how to work on evenweave yet. Look forward to seeing it completed. :)

Holy cow! He's made GREAT progress! I had that chart and then traded it away because I thought it was too much. I'm very impressed with Sir Nicholas. :)

Wow, that's impressive! I haven't even stitched on evenweave and I've been stitching a while. Some people are just natural stitchers! This is a beautiful pattern and he's doing a fabulous job! :D

Get out! That's incredible! My son keeps thinking he wants to learn, but he sort of ... drifts out of it before he's finished a project.

That is amazing. And even more because it's his first evenwave and over-one. Well done. Ann.
