wandering thru my WIPs

Thank you for all the comments & e-mails. I have not been on-line much. My husband's cousin will be coming to town sometime & we are trying to keep our telephone line open. I pulled out "Old Saybrooke Sampler" from the closet. [Reproduction of a Child's Early ABC Sampler]

I took this class in April of 2002. How many years has this been in the closet??? Yikes. Maybe time for some stitching.
I had a difficult time with the graph/pattern. The lines were not very clear, thus, put it aside after stitching the needle/pin roll & fob designs.
This is stitched with DMC floss on 25 count linen. I purchased some rings to sew inside the case.
I enjoyed the fob & NR stitching. I decided to just 'stitch' away at the letters [first photo] & figure they will be close enough to the pattern. Good thing I enjoy stitching letters!

+++++ +++++ +++++
Manged to add more 'vines' to my tabletopper. Did put more stitching IN, than ripping OUT : ) My mind doesn't want to cooperate with the graph!

My plaid, with white as the final color. Ta Da. I got the reversible technique to work out.

Wow Lelia, that plaid is amazing! Just when I think that I've seen everything that stitchers could do, someone comes up with something more. Good luck with your UFO and the unreadable chart. It looks like such a pretty piece. Perhaps well worth the struggle.
Cheers Judy

Your sampler piece looks lovely. I really like the part with flowers around the needles and pins wording, very pretty colors. Congrats on getting the plaid piece to work the way you wanted, it looks great.

You have really been a good girl working through your WIPs. I'm impressed! That sampler and all of the pieces look nice. I hope that you are able to stick with it. Your tablecloth is looking gorgeous and congratulations on finishing your plaid! Hope you're having a great weekend. :)

Hey there Lelia!

I love the plaid - great job! And well done you for summoning up the courage to look at your WIPs. You certainly have more courage than me. I peeked into the drawer where I keep them in my office/craft room a while back and quickly snapped it shut again - eerrrgh!! :)

Hi Lelia, I have enjoyed perusing your blog as usual - everything is gorgeous! But the plaid is WOW! I have a couple of cross stitch patterns for tartans or plaids, and seeing yours has made me itch to do some of my own. But it won't be for a while, as like you, I am focussing on UFOs and WISPs this year.
