WIPs: just a few more stitches added

I've added a few more letters into the Old Saybrook Sampler. I am following the DMC colors provided & trying my best at the letter placement. The graph I have isn't the greatest; however, this really is a fab repro once stitched.

I FINALLY finished ALL of the vines on this tabletopper. I was worried that I would run out of perle cotton -- did have a small piece left over [used 2 skeins of pc#5 for the vines]. I started the first of four beehives.

This is a small place card stitched by my Mother. She made 50+ for a Lenten Breakfast program at her church. The inside of the card has a small paper inserted with some info re. their program. I hope the program participants appreciated them!

I have been reading two books: Angela's Ashes [Memoir by Frank McCourt] and The Mercy Seller [Historical Fiction by Brenda Rickman Vantrease. Seems I've enjoyed my books more than stitching these past few days : )

Hard to believe it is 31 degrees, 45mph winds, wind chill reading of 12 degrees. I'd like to have that 60 degree stuff back. Our flowers are blown to the ground. We are expecting snow flurries. Time to run a few errands. Blek.

Oh, Lelia...Angela's Ashes is a SPECTACULAR book...I read it years ago when it first came out. The sequel...isn't as good as the first book, if you're thinking on giving it a try.....
Your stitching is looking fabulous as always. I couldn't believe how cold it was this a.m. either. My kids have very springish Easter clothes...I guess they'll have to wear their winter coats on top of them...yeck...I hate it when it gets so cold you look like snowman on Easter!

Have I mentioned to you lately that I love that tabletopper? ;) It's looking great, as is your sampler. Just wing it and I'm sure it will turn out fine.

Unfortunately I am having the same weather here, and we've had snow flurries off and on all day, yuck.

Your tabletopper is looking great, and your mom's card looks lovely. I hope some of the people at the breakfast realize how much time that must have taken. I listened to Angela's Ashes as a book on tape and loved it.

Our weather has also been sort of all over the place. Today is very chilly and gray again. Cross your fingers for good weather over the upcoming long weekend!

I love that repro sampler you're working on, and those vines on your tabletopper are impressive!

Angela's Ashes is the best book, I bought it as a neighbour of ours told me his younger childhood was just like the book. Then he, and his 5 siblings were taken into care and then adopted from there. Fascinating story.

Your tabletopper is going to be so pretty when finished! I don't know how you stuck with the vines so long. :)
