Would anybody be able to help?

Earlier today, I took the South Shore into Chicago. I visited the outdoor Christkindlmarket. It was delightful to see all the wonderful booths. I bought four beautiful angels (gifts for family -- tho, I'd like to keep one, too!!!) from the Christkindlmarket in Chicago, IL.

One angel has a card attached, which reads: Wie der Wind, der mit dem warmen Regen die grauen Taler grunen macht, so will ich heute als dein Engel um dich wehen mit Kraft und Warme. Uber Nacht hast du vielleicht schon neuen Mut gefunden und deine Lebensgeister regen sich wie friesches Gras. Vielleicht entdeckst du bald auch bunte Blumen, und Fruhlingsduft umweht dich, der genas.

I tried using AltaVista Babelfish & not sure it is quite right. It translated as:
As the wind, which grunen with the warm rain the grey Taler makes, then I want warm ones today as your angel around you blow with strength and. Night you found perhaps already new courage to Uber and your life spirit to move itself like friesches grass. Perhaps you discover soon also multicolored flowers, and Fruhlingsduft umweht you, genas.

If anybody reading this would be interested in helping me out with the translation, I'd appreciate it. Photographs of the front & back of one angel:

Very cute ornaments! I haven't been to the market this year as yet - I guess I'm running out of time!

I'm sorry I can't help you with the translation. :(

I may be missing some idioms and not remembering some grammar rules, but here is what I came up with:

How the wind, that with the warm rain makes the grey taler (from what I can find, this is an old unit of currency...???) green, so will I flutter today like your angel around you with strength and warmth. Over night you have perhaps found good new courage and your spirit of love gives you fresh grass. Perhaps you discover soon also colorful flowers and spring fragrance overcomes you.

This is a rusty translation, with some help from my German-English dictionary.

Hope this helps a bit...at least gets you pointed in the right direction until someone fluent in German can provide a prettier translation! :-)

I've sent this along to my aunt, who is fluent in German, to see what she might come up with.

I'll let you know what she says.

Very nice ornaments!

My German is a bit rusty, but Kendra's translation sounds good. I would just substitute valleys for Täler.

Hey GF! I don't have a clue what that means, but, the ornaments are great!

My DH has been in the Chicago area all week, and will be home tomorrow. I should have asked about shops down there, so he could have brought me home some goodies! LOL

Have a great Holiday!!

Hugs and Stitches...
