Petites Lettres Rouges

Petites Lettres Rouges
c. Blackbird Designs 2009

Pattern Link:     http://www.blackbird-designs.com/2009/04/our-first-contest.html

I stitched this sampler on 32-count linen using DMC floss #814, 815, 816
I enjoyed seeing other stitchers finished samplers pictured on these blogs:
Blackbird Designs; One Stitch At A Time blog
Blackbird Designs group Blog
I used my paternal Grandmother's name, Adeline Tomm, for this sampler
My grandmother was born May 4, 1897 in Pittsburg, PA
She married my Grandfather, George, on November 24, 1915
P.S.: The 'bird' motif on the sampler (pictured above) is from Summer House , Loose Feathers Pattern #14, c Blackbird Designs 2005

I love your version of the sampler. I've seen so many already on various blogs and each of them is special. Nice to see a picture of your grandparents. They seem to have been very young when they married.

This is a beautiful sampler. I love the fact that you did your grandparents name and date. How lovely! It has a nice antique look to it.

I've so enjoyed seeing everyone's interpretation of PLR. Your color choices were excellent. Your grandmother would be very happy with it. :)

What a treasure that old photo is. It is so interesting to see their clothes from that era. They look very young.
What a lovely tribute to do that sampler with them in mind
