a start

1836 Mary Hannah Gipson Sampler
Reproduced by Ruth Ann Russell of C Street Samplerworks

I couldn't find scroll bars, stitched sampler in a q-snaps.
Have the alphabet started -- the borders are moving along.
(I just wish the GAST were not pre-cut)

I don't notice the uneven weave. Stitching seems the same on even weave and uneven weave.

What a beautiful, calm color!

I agree I don't like it when they precut the floss either - it messes up trying to blend colors sometimes and you can't use it for making braid. Your start looks good will be looking for your next progress report. :)

I don't know that I would have noticed the uneven weave if you hadn't mentioned it. What's the difference in the counts in each direction?

I'm with Heather. The color is very calming!
