Scarlet Letter Year .... 2014:

WOOT!!!    An excellent mail day.   Per Nicola:  "To celebrate our year of stitching together I thought it would be good fun to have a Scarlet Letter advent calendar."   I participated in the Advent Calender [2013] and my name chosen  for Day Seven, project graphs of  Jane Ogle's Sampler of 1700 AND Elizabeth Norris's Sampler of 1730.     Alphabets, need I say more?   Thank you.

If you are interested, visit Nicola's Scarlet Letter Blog to participate.  And, don't forget to look at The Gallery!!!

With patterns in hand, there are options for linen sizes [size of sampler] and I couldn't help notice, the original  Jane Ogle sampler was on 50-count ivory linen.   Imagine, 50 count!!   Elizabeth Norris 45 count.   Each graph is wonderful & they seem to use THREE colors of fibers.   Red, Green + Blue.

To prepare for 2014, I put the Ann Scutt sampler back on the scroll frame.
AND
have A Pastoral out - need to finish edge of linen and was planning to use q-snap.   This is surface stitching.  I thing would be fun to do a band sampler and alternate with surface embroidery.

After holidays, I spent time getting organized with my stash.   Seemed I was spending too much time looking for things and needed to have a better way to have projects ready.    Last night, I put my beads into two boxes.   All together.     The only thing I didn't really need to organize was tatting supplies.   They are pretty ok as is.

Not sure if people follow their resolutions each year.   Mine was to accomplish more and enjoy all these wonderful things I've accumulated and never found time to enjoy.     Happy New Year!!!
