Fun at the Fair : )
Earlier today, GF Sue D (w/o blog) & I visited the Lake County Fair. In the Family Arts & Crafts Building, Deanna Bassett was demonstrating. I learned how to make a lanyard (I think spelled correctly) using beading wire, crimping tool (crimp the beads to hold the whole thing in place), and lanyard. We chose a charm, beads, spacer beads, and woo-la ... A nifty purse decoration : ) I like the way it turned out!
Friday, there are knitting & crocheting demos. Saturday, Quilting demos. Sunday, Locker Hooking + Quilting. I looked up Locker Hooking on-line. Is this interesting or what???
More progress on Forest Song. And, yes, this design has birds in the corners & a beautiful bird's nest charm in the center.
Ha Ha. And, yes, I have made small progress on my M.Garry Flatfold. I made the small scissors fob! I hope to get the cording made tonight & start stitching the inside pocket.
I wish I'd gone to your fair! (I went to the Porter County fair for the first time this year - we usually go to the LaPorte County fair). The lanyard you made is gorgeous!
But did you go to the Goat Milking Contest??? =) Your lanyard is lovely. And so are your WIPs!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as though you're having a blast! The locker hooking looks pretty neat.
ReplyDeleteI just love your old WIP's that you've pulled out!
Very cool that they have demos at the fair! That really is an awesome fair :)
ReplyDeleteThe fair sounds good fun, I am looking forward to seeing your progress on your Elizabeth Design, I like there projects.
ReplyDeleteIlove the hemstitching you did on the flatfold. I'm printing a copy of the photo to put in my suggestions file. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a trip to the fair.
