Primitive Bird

Primitive Bird
The Goode Huswife, 2003
The Goode Huswife's Book of Designs Volume No. 1

As much as I adore this pattern, I thought I'd try to add a bit of red over dye in place of 'WDW Rust'.
It does add a touch of color, so far, I like it
I may even sustitute one of the suggested fibers & add the golden orange overdye.
And, if I stopped swapping out fibers, I would already be done with this P.Bird!!!

Spring is popping up in the gardens:

  4. ohhh! nice start. Is this pattern in the book? I have been wanting this pattern for awhile now. I didn't know it was in the book. Is there somewhere what designs are in the books?

  5. Ah, swapping fibers does slow one down, but oh, the results! Your start looks great! Is that the backing fabric you're planning to use?? I like it.

  15. Hi Lelia! Thanks for visiting! To answer your question; the plastic tatting thread container I got at Lace Day in LA where a bunch of lace vendors come and sell their wares. I got this from "Loopy Lacer" A.K.A. Lily Morales who sells stuff. I can't find a website for her...maybe you could google her?
