More stash! WOOT! I bought the Workbasket Hearts for the Pennsylvania Dutch motifs -- the sampler is really very large ... I thought they'd be cute done as single pincushions or something. The other two patterns (Of Female Worth Wear Your Heart & Twisted Threads Tin Pin Heart) are for PINS .... PINS .... PINS.

WTF: Shep Bush Fob -- Aren't heart strings cute? Was supposed to be a scissors fob & I thought too large ... was thinking of making two small pillows out of these designs.

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day!!

I'm really enjoying going thru my "stuff" for Valentine's Day. This is SOME of my stitched items. I have more ... stay tuned.

WTF: I really should figure out how to FINISH this Pin Pillow. (front+back) It has a buttonhole edge w/fancy chain stitching in each corner. It is the Judah Hayle Pin Pillow from Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly. Spring 2001 SANQ
With so little spare $$$ (daughter in college) I opted to find some STASH with heart themes. I was thinking of doing the BOF over one -- The Shep Bush kit was a door prize (won this a couple years ago!). Heart Blooms

A. What a tough question. I don't know what would be "perfect" but I like to stitch traditional sampler motifs, alphabets & critters (rabbits, cats, birds, etc) If $$$ were not an issue .... stitching with silk would be my preference for everything : )

Tabletopper in progress

I started the Sampler Tabletopper during Superbowl. I didn't get many stitches in (yet). I am enjoying these motifs!!

Barbara: Tabletoppers are stitched on a nine square cut of 18-count Anne Cloth, over 2 threads, using size 5 perle coton &/or 1 ply of Caron Watercolours thread. Toppers are about 22" x 22". (per the Dutch Treat Web Site)

It looks like maintenance continues on the e-mail system ... was supposed to be down 12 midnight to 6am .... and it is 8:22a.m. .... and still no e-mail. sigh

I started on a new Tabletopper during Sue's Superbowl of Stitcher's party (yesterday afternoon). Was really nice to be invited to a party & launch a new project. Our group is called the Thread Heads. There are get togethers almost every month. Aside from the stitching .... I really enjoyed the Show-n-Tell & seeing what everybody else is working on. The Drawn Thread Game Board is one of my favorite WIPs being stitched by Melody; and soon by Kay. (neither of them have blogs YET!)

Nicholas earned Gold at ISSMA on Saturday, then we went to my Mom's to help assemble a chest of drawers & move some boxes. Sunday was the great party -- nice to chat & stitch with girlfriends. I wish I could have stayed longer - hard to do with DH on call, etc. Earlier today, I helped my Mom move into her new apartment. Well, the movers did most; I did a lot of cleaning at the former place. Helped rearrange her stuff in the new place. She needs to finish her closet & unpack her books. Also today is DH's 50th Birthday. I bought him a book he was looking at called Marley & Me (has a lab puppy on the cover).
