Yes, like it better.

Lavinia, the purple edge was a good suggestion.

Sometime, I am just too close - knew it needed "something" .

(edge in DMC #5 Coton Perle, color 552)

I may add edges to a couple other buttons -- it does make the colors nicer looking.

This one seems more cheerful and colourful than the last one ...

I used 1.5" button mould.

May need an edge of button hold stitches in the light purple.

Maybe.

 

Button 27

Took out some color 208 -- added some color 504 & 552.   Still on the fence about it.

Maybe it just needs an edging of button hold stitches.

I used 1.5" button mould.

Button 27: In progress

Not quite finished ... eventually, the weave

will look like 6 hearts.   Plus, has an edging - which I call the button jacket!

Button 21: Diced Button, 2 colors

Diced Button (basketweave design) w/two colors.

I used 1.5" button mould.

DMC Coton Perle #5, Colors 368 & 776.

These are such a challenge (for me), so I added a square frame

using the corner anchors.   And, added a few more rounds

of fiber to cover up the mould.

P.S. Lavinia, I took your advice and added more fiber

around the button mould.

Button 28: Wrapped Star w/embroidery

Star button with tied embroidery.

[reminds me of a Dove's Eye - Hardanger].

I used 1.5" button mould.   Anchor #5 Pearl Cotton Perle.

Color 300

 

Button 32: Square (design)

(Similar to previous button - which was worked from the center to outer corner anchors.)

Square button (design) worked from the outside corner anchors to the middle.

I used 1.5" button mould.   DMC #5 Coton Perle 823.

Anchor #5 Pearl Cotton Perle 893, 300, 121, 858.

P.S. The button numbers are assigned by our instructor.   We have a checklist of button types/styles

which we are creating thru the three terms of these sessions.

And, I have a few more to create before Wednesday's zoom ....

[inside out].

I used 1.5" button mould.   DMC #5 Coton Perle.

Five Colours:  471, 597, 445, 208, 823

Diced Button (basketweave design).

I used 1.5" button mould.

Button 25: Schwalm Woven Star w/edging

Schwalm Woven Star w/edging.   Per the book, for festive clothing,

the border was usually black, purple, green or red.

Thus, I used 1.5" wooden button mould.

DMC #5 Coton Perle.

Colors 841, 223, 815.

Edge in color 815.

I used 1 1/5" button mould.

DMC coton perle #5

Colors 3347, 597 & 445

Foil?   Yes.   Foil.   I used a Hallmark envelope flap.

5/8" template - and cut a little piece.

  I understand, candy wrappers, 

craft foil, aluminum foil are used ... gives a shine to the center of the star.

Now the book suggests a foil circle; however, this shape worked for me. 

I think a smaller mold needed for next time - it needs

to look more like the one in the book ....
