HAVE YOU SEEN THIS? The Summer '09 issue of Art Quilting Studio has a great article on The Pink Artists

Did you notice they made mention of Pat Winter's art quilt square ?

I looked at the Slide Show on Monica's post, and I spotted my 'left over' square in this block.

Road Trip ....

When I started a Facebook account, I never dreamed I would re-connect with so many stitching friends. When I heard from Cathy, she told me about her new shop: Inspired Needle

Road Trip!!!! One morning, GFs Sue D & Debbie L went with me to Inspired Needle, Ltd.

We had a great time catching up on the news and browsing the new store. Lots of favourite designers -- tons of stitching goodies -- and I bought this:

Dutch Strawberries
The Goode Huswifec.2009

Cathy gave me a needle with the purchase. It is a BOHIN tapestry, size 26. I bought a pkg, too. I love them -- What a fabulous needle!

Check out Cathy's Facebook Page - or her Store's Web Site or become a Fan on Facebook. Better yet, when you are in Lemont, Illinois -- stop in and say 'hi". Tell her Lelia sent you : )

Art O Mat

Helen Harris Paintings
Pine Shore Studio Blog
Facebook Page

During a recent visit to Chicago, DH & I had a cup of coffee in the Chicago Cultural Center
While DH was taking a call, I wandered over to the Art O Mat machine
These are cigarette machines stocked with ART!!!

I bought a couple tokens in the gift shop & selected a floral (first photo); My husband ended his call & selected a painting (photo below)

I hope some day, when I approach the machine, I'll find some of my textile artist friends have participated!! What fun it would be to select a piece of art from one of my friends : )

These are my Art O Mat purchases (so far)

I won! I won!

My desk:

Did you notice the tower of fabric??? It is Miss Jump's Scrap Bag by Linda Brannock, moda

"Small charming prints in the warm colors you have come to love by Linda Brannock. Perfect for those primitive and civil war quilts"

I entered a contest via the Facebook Page American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine ; Jill's Blog - Rag Lady.

Check it out -- Become a Fan!

I have to figure out what quilt pattern to use. There are endless possibilities. Any suggestions?

Here is a close-up:

Thx to Jill & the American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine for offering this special prize. I'm delighted!

Misc from Lelia ...

What would cause me to buy the latest issue of Needlepoint Now?

Coni's column (aka Spinster Stitcher ) --- Job Well Done : )

I don't do much canvas / needlepoint. One pattern I have done several times (for GFs) is this scissorkeeper. You'd think I have it memorized -- but I don't. I'm using watercolour - eggplant and will add lavendar on one -- and then stitch it again using green. I am often amazed at the difference an accent color makes
