The main reason for the knitting patterns / stitches, was to do this dishcloth.   It is Lily Sugar'n Cream yarn - Red Bud (color), size 8 needles.    The dishcloth pattern is free on the Yarnspirations site.   Or, Ravelry - link here.

The Basketweave Stitch - needle size 7.

awful yarn - size 9 needles.   This is The Openwork Stitch -- described  "lace pattern that creates a lattice-like mesh ....... makes great market bags and wraps".     I would have to try a different yarn to get a better idea.     This is from New Stitch a Day, Facebook page --- link here.

trying new needles & new knit pattern ....

This is a sample.   From Blog post:   " How to knit the Triangle Stitch Pattern".
Blog: We are Knitters.   The Blog.   Link Here

I used Cascade yarn with US 8 ZEN needle.

This is a sample from blog post:  "How to Knit Flowered Columns".   Blog:  We are Knitters The Blog.   link HERE.

Plus, a little progress on Spiral Rib Hat.   (red / Crimson).     I am a project bag lady.   Seems I have an assortment of bag shapes and sizes, and seem to use them ALL.   [the 'cat' is a tape measure from 10,000 Villages.]

Jasper and Honey sharing the top shelf - Jasper, the larger cat in back has tail and back leg hanging down.

This is the tulip tree in our yard - with snow packed inside the buds.   The snow hanging on today - when it warms up this week, the snow will melt!

knitting update ....

I seem to be drawn to knitting patterns with lace techniques.   So far, I've knitted with size 7 or 8 -- so, my MIL gave us some needles - pink ones are size 3.   I visited the LYS and bought a small amount of narrow [fine] yarn to try.   If I can manage - would enjoy making the Japanese Feather Scarf from LAST year's lace issue.   I also picked up this year's lace issue - enjoy it so much.  Purchased the One-skein wonders book --- oodles of patterns.

Since last post - I've made a couple of dish cloth dresses - to put on dish soap bottles:
Both are Debbie Trainor patterns --- can find at craft stores & on-line Ravelry, Craftsy.  Made with Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarns.   [above for MIL, below for SIL]

Washcloth patterns in seed stitch and moss stitch - from Ravelry, designed by Mindy Hudson.  Made with Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarns.
Below, fir cone stitch - from Pauline Knits blog.

And the scarf - the Beginner Scarf from Knitting class --- now 28", almost finished the first skein of yarn - will soon add the 2nd skein of yarn.

pets

My sister sent these lovely books to me.  And I set them near my desk - keeping them close to pick up and read a few more pages ... guess who thought they were perfect stools?  Yep, Mr Katt.    I had the window open and he decided the books made perfect chair for peering out.   What a hoot.   (this time he didn't topple over DD's bear).
Meanwhile, while Jasper (above) and Honey (below) were sitting near the other windows, they fell sound asleep once the sun set.  What a lovely day - nice to see sunshine and keep fingers crossed for Spring.

knitting

I like this wool yarn.   I have been practicing the double moss knitting stitch.

Photo above is lesson two - knitting- ribbing, adding stripes of color and double moss.  DD has a nice looking sample, too.     Practice practice practice.

Photo below - first knitting lesson.
Wobbly and uneven and twisted - gotta start someplace1
