Thank you!
Thank you Judy Whitman! Thank you Norden Crafts for hosting special pattern giveaways on a daily basis. I was fortunate to have won this lovely JBW Designs pattern, Wreath Ornaments II by Judy Whitman. It was sent to House of Stitches [local LNS] and I am really happy to have it in hand. To participate in the giveaways, visit the Norden Crafts FB Page - link HERE.
Today, I was surprised. Our two kitties seem to be tolerating each other. Jasper [left] and Honey Bunny [right] napping. And, neither snarling at each other. I didn't think they'd ever get along. Simon [kitty not in photos] managed to break another pyrex baking dish - shattered everywhere. Simon gets into everything!
And for the child in all of us, Build-a-Bear toys in Happy Meals! Enjoy the day - stay warm, chilly outside.

Sorry to take so long ...
In December, I posted a Christmas Ornament Meme. I received an e-mail asking to identify the "red, green & gold" ornament -- I should have gotten back to you sooner ... Now, I'm guessing you meant this one made by my NANI friend, Chris R:

Feather Tree The Ornament Collection c.1991 Designed by Judy Whitman, JBW Designs I liked this ornament (made by Chris) so much that I borrowed the pattern from her & stitched a couple of the ornaments (gave them away as gifts). I don't know if this pattern is still available for purchase.
Or, you might have meant:
Holiday Charm II c.1999 Genny Morrow Designs This is one of two Genny Morrow canvas projects I've completed. The fibers are Felicity's Garden, Splendor, and Kreinik Braid. The other canvas project I've done, by Genny Morrow, First Steps, is pictured on a previous blog post.
Another red, yellow, green ornament in that post is:
Reindeer Garden Threads Thru Time Nancy Surgeon It is from the Christmas Ornaments 2000 Magazine. I used DMC 435 gold -- otherwise, the suggested DMC floss for red & green.
As for the tree from the nursery, DH & DS planted it on the hill. (picture taken right after it was planted -- before all the snow arrived) It looks very small next to the other pine trees.
Most of our trees do survive the winter. I can only tell you how we do it -- the nursery owners are more knowledgeable. We bring the tree home & store it in the garage a couple days. Bring it up to decorate with lights and light-weight ornaments. We have it away from heating vents & keep it in the house a couple days. Then, back into the garage a couple days -- and outside for planting when there is a break in the weather. The hill behind our home has filled in with many Christmas trees of past years.

French Country IV: Pumpkin

No new bunnies [yet]
This is "Rabbit Forest" by The Workbasket. I goofed with the spacing on the pattern & had to move things around a bit -- and add a couple little things : ) Hard to resist those darling rabbits.
This is "The Bunny Hop" designed by Judy Whitman, JBW Designs c.1999. I made a few changes with the floss colors.
I've made a few sewing smalls with rabbit motifs, too. They are delightful to stitch : ) Enjoy the day. Stitch well.

More stash ...
Visited House of Stitches today. Nothing like an Autumn drive in the rain ... I picked out a nice soft green linen for the tree pattern.

Picked out these two JBW patterns that I've had my eye on. I confess to wanting more. I know I'll be heading there again soon to pick up my Brightneedle Kit [when it is ready].

And bought THE must have magazine ...

Thanx Mel for riding along. Fun to meet up with Sue D, Deb L, and Linda H at the shop. They arrived before us & didn't buy up everything in the store :D

I like these ...

JBW Designs. Has anybody stitched them? Their French Country rabbit, reindeer, etc. are so interesting. I have to check them out during my next LNS trip.
Today, I received this comment: "Help please. I'm new to Hardanger and have just cut 5 threads insted of 4 - I understand all is not lost and I can repair! Does anyone know how please? Thanks Craftygirl"
Dear Craftygirl: I don't do a lot of hardanger & I'm not exactly sure how to repair cut fibers. My guess is that you take a linen thread & replace it. Or, if it is cut in an area where it will be covered by a Kloster block, then it won't really show. I wish I knew more about hardanger to help you out.
UPDATE -- words of wisdom from Sue D: "Just read your latest blog entry. Tell your friend with the Hardanger that the thread she cut can be saved by doing the Kloister block, if it is the edge or when you do your weaving of the middle threads. I have fixed mine this way several times. You don't notice it once the weaving is done. You just be sure to catch the lose thread when you do the weaving, the other thread you are weaving should support it. Hope this helps. Sue"
