Beaded Amulet Bag

Pattern:  A Simple Beaded Amulet Bag
by Anne Reaves

Taught at one of the Lafayette Lacemakers meeting.   There are actually two patterns.   One for knitting, one for crochet.

I finished the amulet bag - I used Royale Size 3 Crochet Cotton.   Color Plum (0871).    Size 4 Knitting Needles.  6/0 Miyuki Vineyard Seed Bead Mix.   Ribbon.

Edited:  Looks like a red hat project with the colors I chose ; )

knitting ....

Yes - I did get the 2nd mitt knitted.
Do you see the small length or hand spun shetland
that I had left?  I have some of the darker color - probably enough to seam them closed.

Plan to block and get the seam done on Monday.

The wrap - pattern called Ardent -  only a few more rows added.  Uncertain I will have it completed in time for 2024 Feast.   I do have a couple others which I can wear with my costume for the Feast of the Hunters' Moon.

Knitting mitts

Knitting a pair of texting mitts -- fingerless gloves.
For my costume (October 2024 Feast of the Hunters' Moon.

The yarn is hand spun Shetland from Scarlet Letter.
I purchased these many years ago!!!
Honestly, barely enough for the pair.

My previous  (2 pair of ) mitts, for my costume, are shorter in length.
Depending on the weather, a longer mitt may be needed.
 the off-white pair are short.
The ones I made last year were still too short.
(gave 2 pair away).  Hoping the third try will be the charm.

Some progress on my Wraps

I think I've done more knitting in the past couple weeks.  And a small bit of tatting.

 Antarktis ... nearly finished.

Ardent ... another section done while chatting with friends.

Summer Sky.  Next section - Star Stitch.  I've never tried it, but liked the look of it in the photograph.

September will be button classes and an intermediate tatting class.
Via zoom thru the Lace Museum.

Monday cast on ...

I purchased this yarn in January.   At a lovely store in Pensacola, FL.

The yarn store was lovely.   I wished I had more time
to totally shop --- did find the EXACT color blue I was seeking.
And the correct amount.

Cloud 9 -- what a beautiful yarn.   Knits like a dream.

Will eventually be a wrap, called Summer Sky.

Honestly, knits like a dream.   I hope it looks nice
once I am done.

Ardent by Woolenberry.  No progress.  The yarn is nice tho.   The color is so - natural.   I find it challenging.   Easier for me to use colorful fibers.

I started it in .... I don't know 2017???   Nice to have unearthed it.    How do these beautiful projects get burried in the craft room?     I think it is my oldest Woolenberry WIP.
The yarn store is no longer in business!

Meanwhile .... Knitting. Costume pieces.

Edited

I have six knitted pieces.   Will make THREE pair.   YAY.

Hope to sew them into mitts tomorrow. (the side seam with opening for thumb).

The pattern New Knitter Mitts
is really easy and simple to create.

I'm using Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Aran
Made in Kilcar Ireland
90% wool / 10% angora.

The yarn was purchased from Sheep's Clothing
in Valparaiso, Indiana.
The Sheep's Clothing store is in the process of closing.
Currently, everything is 40% off.
[Reply to comment/question ... The Sheep's Clothing has been
in town many years.   Then, was closing - acquired a new owner,
and once again closing.  I'm not sure the reason(s).  It is a nice
store/shop and sells quality products.]

And---I've been sewing ... trying to get my
costume(s) ready for October's
Last October, I had borrowed clothing/costume pieces to wear.
Since then, I've purchased a couple pieces and
have sewn skirts.   And made mop hats.
(don't you think the hat needs a tatted lace edge?????)

Want to look nice in October!

This was last October - and my hands were
chilled.   Hoping the new mitts will be warmer.
Tatting with cold fingers was a challenge, until later when the temperature warmed up.
[I did purchase the cape and hat.]

And, if you are in the neighborhood,

Knitting: A pair knitted

I finished knitting the second (or one pair) of mitts.
With more yarn on the ball ... seeing if I can get another pair.
Then can sew the side with opening for thumb.
I've also gone thru my stash - thinking I have another ball of this type/color yarn : )

Using Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweek Aran.
Made in Kilcar Ireland.  90% wool, 10% angora.

The pattern was part of a kit.   I like the simplicity of this pattern ; )

Onsie to Pair of Slippers

Froze Toes Slippers, pattern by Kristin McDonnell.  Uses (left over) blanket yarn by BERNAT.
A pair!

Currently, deciding which WIP to get out of the knitting bag.

Bernat Blanket yarn.
10928 - Deep Fuschia

-------------------- Note:  nope, didn't add non-skid pieces to the slippers.   A very good idea.   These, I use as I am putting my feet up to knit or view television.

Onesie

Going on a hunt for supplies .... I realized that there are a few onsies in my knitting projects.    These need to be PAIRS.

Mosaic knitting.   Project bags.  This was a LNS class & I had enough left overs to create a 2nd bag.   One finished, and one WIP.   (IMO:  It is a GREAT way to use up bits of yarns, multiple colors.)    Pattern is by Cindy Walker 'Mosaic Bag'

This was a LNS project.   Knit mittens in a day with bulky yarn.   Only, it took me longer to get just ONE and I didn't start the 2nd one (yet).   Class/Pattern called "All Day Mitten"

Froze Toes Slippers, pattern by Kristin McDonnell.  Uses (left over) blanket yarn by BERNAT.   I did put the 2nd slipper on knitting needles.  These need to be done and put to use this winter.

This is another LNS class.  It is a toe-up sock class that I struggled with.   Yet, my 2nd sock is nearly there.   Another good project to finish up this winter.

I hope any of you reading this post, with ONE of two -- or projects 50% complete -- can get back into the groove and enjoy finishing!!!

Sometimes, you just feel like knitting.

Antarktis
Pattern by Janina Kallio, Woolenberry

Ardent

Risoni Bias Scarf
Pattern by Kristin Ford

[but I might start over and do this differently.   I cast on too many stitches]

I also really would like to start the Risoni Triangle by Janet Avila.   (free on Ravelry).   Now that I have the skeins needed (of Risoni), I'm looking forward to making an asymmetrical triangle.

Finish: It is a Wrap

 The Pattern is

Orbit by Janina Kallio, Woolenberry

Using 100% superwash merino wool.  LOOP Studio, color Easel.  I put this on a dark tee shirt so you can see the pattern.

I'm really happy how easily this knit up and how nice it blocked.
It is ready to wear!

Moving along with Orbit --- I think one section to go -- then the eyelet ending.
