Triple Lily Ornament

edited 30 April 2026
 Reverse Chain Stitch start.

Kit + Instruction:  Melinda Sherbring
Two Day workshop via zoom.

Practice stitching.   Learning the Ceylon Stitch, Elizabethan Double Ladder / w/curve.     I've never learned stitching on plastic canvas.   There are pros and cons - yet, it is easier to view at a glance, how the stitches are created.

Raised Stem stitch, Raised Back Stitch, Raised Guilloche on cords.

Practice for the 'finishing' edges. Double Edged Chain. Single Edged Chain. Linked Chains. Double Edged Linked Chains.  So, if ever I complete the lily piece, these are the options for completion.....

Sashiko? Mini Loom? Tools?

Twisted Picot order in the mailbox.
I've been looking at the Sashiko kits + look forward to giving it a try.   And the mini loom (gift) .... cannot wait to try ; )    Button Station & Third Hand.

This mini loom is too much fun.   Sky and prarie.

 Blast from the past ...

Anita's Little Stitches has ball-tip needles.  I wanted to try the BOHIN ball-tip needles.   Very handy with teneriffe and nanduti.

Zwirnknopt Ovals ---

DMC Coton Perle, #5,  Col. 799, 210, 504.
Daiso Lace Yarn #20, Col. 31
3" oval wooden shape.

Karen Smock's Zwirnknopt Easter Egg class thru the Lace Museum Virtual Education.   Nice wood pieces from her button store - Karen's Buttons Supplies.
I didn't attach the bunny - or finish the back (yet).   Once I finish the 2nd oval piece, I'll figure out the embellishing and tidy the back.

Starting the bonus pattern - gift from Karen - variation of the original pattern.

So far, DMC pc #5, Col. 504 and Aunt Lydia's size 10 Metallic, Col. White/Pearl   Has fewer spokes.   We will see how it turns out.

For the 1st one -- beeswax and clips a must have ....

Zwirnknopf Easter Egg

Pulling out the class kit & sorting thru colors of perle coton.   I picked up a couple embellishments at our local craft store - flowers, rabbits, which I may add once oval is completed.  My girlfriend's husband makes beeswax pieces and I was gifted a few of them last week.

Preparing for Karen Smock's Zwirnknopt Easter Egg class thru the Lace Museum Virtual Education.   Nice button store - Karen's Buttons Supplies.    Their class selection is wonderful - a lot to choose from.  I continue to be grateful to friends who have gifted fibers and supplies to me!!

Check it out-- follow the links.

I filled in my Lace Bingo card and sent to Kelli Slack.
Did you complete one?

Reading ....

 Finished and enjoyed
Hannah Rothschild's The Improbability of Love.  Especially when the author had the 'painting' as a character.  I enjoy the art world and this fiction was so much fun to read.   So, finished -- now I can start Mona's Eyes by Thomas Schlesser.

I have read all of Elizabeth Strout books.  I've read them in order of publication ; however, read any of them!   I have even pre ordered the newest one --  passed along this one to a
 friend!

 Finished and enjoyed Bonnie Garmus
Lessons in Chemistry.   Incredible!   Passed along to a friend.

I've got a start on Daniel Mason's North Woods, and Picoult's Mad Honey --

just bought Theo of Golden by Allen Levi (gift card from youngest DS).    Have Daniel Mason's short stories, purchased awhile back ...
have a few on the night stand.
