some progress

A Sampler Pinkeep
A few more stitches into this project
I can only manage over-one stitching for an hour
at a time. Then I have to quit.
It is a challenge.

I found the DMC Stitch Pink Needlework Accessory Kit today.
It was at the large JoAnn Fabrics store.

There are pink
floss bobbins
scissors
needle threader
and charts inside a pink case (zips shut).
With a coupon, not too bad of a deal.

As for the locker hooking,
I had a few e-mails and questions.
This is the book I have.
It is by Theresa Pulido .
Supplies can be found at local
craft stores and on-line.
You need latch hook/rug canvas, fabric cut in strips,
locker hook, and yarn needle.
There are videos on line to
explain the process.

Thank You!

The Pink Artist Project raised $3,028.34 for Susan G Komen for the cure and breast cancer research. I would like to thank everybody who participated, donated their artistic talents, created squares, donated hand made gifts, added a blog post, put a group button on their web sites & blog pages, donated money, and supported the project. More Information Here.

I was fortunate to be one of nearly 40 people to have their name drawn for a gift. I just love my new vase. The vase is Red Maple w/Black Walnut Rim. The photograph doesn't do justice. I tried several pictures & this one seems to be the best. I think you get the general idea of the size and exquisite shape!

When I opened the box, this is what I saw: This treasure was made by William Burroughs, Jr. in Henderson, NC. I enjoyed seeing the pictures & reading his web site! Thank you very much : ) Included with the wooden vase was a letter from his wife, Thearica, explaining the use of orange oil 2x/yr & buffing to keep it looking great.

She, Thearica, has a quilting studio. (and you all know how much I love quilts) I'm gobsmacked by her talent! Quilting Studio, web site link here.

Meet "Love Squared" - The Pink Artist Project

ONE step closer to helping raise $$$ for Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Love Squared is being packaged up & will be sent to Art Doll Quartery
Over 175+ artists sent in 2" x 2" squares for this project.

Per Monica's blog: "the pink artist" is a community of artists joining together to create one joint art doll to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. When doll has been completed, it will be mailed in to Art Doll Quarterly™ before finally being auctioned off on eBay at a later date. ALL PROCEEDS WILL DIRECTLY BENEFIT CHARITY. Remaining squares have made our wall art piece a reality! BRAVO!

I thought the visitors to my stitching blog would enjoy close-up photos of the many squares submitted. LINK HERE.

Hope Accent, PS Freebie, Buddy Update

Thx so much for the e-mails and comments over the past couple of days. I appreciate them : )

Nordic Needle announced they are repeating their Bookmark Challenge (March 20 through May 8). "After the challenge ends, we will hold a drawing and the winner of the drawing will receive a $100 gift certificate to Nordic Needle! The more bookmarks you send to us, the more times your name is entered into the drawing and the better chance you have to win!" Check out the 3/10/08 Newsletter for details.

I was asked for more information on my accent (photo in previous post). It isHope Sampler Accent A Breast Cancer Fund Raising Needle Work Project. c.1999 by Barbara L. Rakosnik, Periwinkle Promises. This was a kit w/29-ct white Glenshee Linen, Mill Hill beads, and Kreinik's Soie d'Alger silks. I changed it a little bit by adding the button. As far as I know, it is still available for purchase.

Finished the abc 123 freebie from Prairie Schooler. I used 32-ct Lambswool linen & suggested DMC Floss.
Freebie can be found HERE

Our Buddy
Took him to the vet's office this a.m. They removed the bandage & the stitches remain until the next visit. I'm keeping a close watch on him. His ear looks ok, he is on pain medications & antibiotics. He seems happier with the bandage off -- tho, the halo thing is bothersome to him.
