"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. "

I've Been Tagged & Awarded : )

By Pat (Gatherings)
Requested for the tag: Give 6 obscure facts about me ...
1) I love my husband. He is my light. I'd do anything for him.
2) I listen to all kinds of music, chart toppers, alternative, new age, rock; still, I love Beethoven. Listening to Moonlight Sonata, Fur Elise, I just melt. (Debussy - Clair de lune also a fav)
3) Holidays stress me out. A LOT. I feel like a different person.
4) My crush: If only Perry Mason was a real guy
5) Limelight is definately NOT comfortable for me
6) I'm more zoo-keeper than pet lover (surprised?)

The rules for this Bookworm Award award are: Open the book closest to you, not your favorite or most intellectual book, but the book closest to you at the moment, and turn to page 56. Write out the fifth sentence, as well as two to five sentences following that. And pass the award on to five blogging friends.

I'm reading a few books right now. This one was closest to me when I read Marjorie's blog.

Book: Luncheon of the Boating Party by Susan Vreeland.
Quote: Auguste dropped off the supplies at his studio and walked the half dozen blocks to Gustave's apartment on boulevard Haussmann. Lined with elegant cafes and smart shops, the boulevard was clearly a different neighborhood than his own. He entered beneath the gild ironwook, went up two flights, and pulled the bell cord. Piano music stopped. Gustave's brother, a composer, let him in. "He's painting on the balcony," Martial said. "Then I won't interrupt him."
(This is historical-Fiction, characters in above quote are Pierre-Auguste Renoir & Gustave Caillebotte, around 1880) My 2008 Book list

The rules for this tag: Find the 6th folder in your photos folder and then the 6th photo in it. * Pray that you remember the details * Post it on your blog Tag 5 others, leave a comment to let them know they’ve been tagged.

This photograph is of our Honey Bunny who enjoys napping on my Martha Stewart ironing board. Me thinks the cat feels like she is in a tree : )

This picture is taken in front of my wardrobe -- my stitching corner is at the left.

Thanks my friends! Since we are heading into holidays, I thought best not to tag; however, I'd really enjoy seeing other bloggers post on any/all of these ...

You Make Me Smile

I received this award from Jaimie AND Suzanne. Nice of both of you to mention me in your posts. Thank you very much! Your blogs make me smile, too.

The rules are you have to pass it on to ten people that make you smile.

There are many many blogs that I enjoy visiting. Bloggers make me smile every morning while I am browsing all their posts & drooling over their projects -- hard to narrow down a list into just ten (I think I listed eleven -- could have listed 11 more!) ... I agree with Suzanne that it is an excellent way to showcase blogs, I have tried not to duplicate the blogs they listed & perhaps there is one or two that you have not visited in the past.

Anna, Stitch Bitch
Barbara, Mainely Stitching
Cathy, With Needle and Thread
Chelle, Totally Toadlily
Gina E, Patra's Place
Jenna, Tale of a Shooting Star
Judy, Crazee4Books (and her stitching is lovely, too)
Monique, Inside No.20
SharonB, In a Minute Ago
Von, On the Dry Side
Vonna,The Twisted Stitcher
