Button 39: Six-Part Death's Head w/needle weaving

This is a 1.5" wooden button mould.
I used DMC Coton Perle #5.
Colors 445 + 517.

To answer question re. button moulds.   These are a few sizes that I have on hand.
They are used as a base for the fibers.
Flat wooden discs, curved top discs, wooden bead.   Sizes between 1.5" - 5/8".

Great Big THANK YOU to Nancy and Beth
for the fiber infusion, additional fibers are appreciated -- coton perle(s) and linen spool.
I used the blue from Beth in this button.    I usually use coton perle.
And still using the beeswax from Mel.  A little goes a long way.

 Week One:

I signed up for four button making sessions.  Karen Smock is the instructor of these sessions..

On Wednesday, we made three different buttons.

Button 1 - Death's Head Button.

I used DMC perle coton #5.  Color 799.   Not bad for the first try.

Button 2 - Cross Button.

I used DMC perle coton #5.  Color 353.  I think my 2nd button came out better than the first one.

Button 3 - Square Wrap Button.

I used DMC perle coton #5.  Color 554.

These have four spokes.  Each of the buttons are about 1.25"

Looking forward to our next class.
