Marjorie's Giveaway and Locker Hook progress

Done, done, done ... Yes, it is finished.
This Quilt Block  project
was a locker hooking class - GF Mel and I took (Nov 2010?)
at  Needle + Thread in Valparaiso, IN.

It is so pretty.   Really like the way it turned out.

[Aside from the awesome quilting classes ....
I see they offer a sock monkey class in February.]

I 'stalled' on GF Beth's snowman project.
Beth started + gave up!  I plan to get the last few rows
done with a different background fabric --- it is close in color.

I bought this book when it was released :
by

and like the colors and patterns.   Interesting
to mix locker hooking with a variety of shapes -- use of tile, ribbon, buttons, beads.

-----------------------------------------------

The red bags with spools of
Kreinik fibers
were table favors from the
Tori and I attended - so, I have 4 spools!!

It was a nice party with delicious food,
excellent games (yes, I won a Target gift card),
and social time with friends!!!

Did you see the Emery on the right?
Does it look familiar?
Perhaps you saw it pictured on Moonsilk Stitches
GIVEAWAY blog post. (it is so kewl - wonderful to have creative friends!!!)

Don't miss Marjorie's GIVEAWAY --- see her post:
for details.

happily hooking

This is a kit from
The Quilt Shop
in Middlebury, IN.

GF Beth (w/o blog)
purchased the kit,
and gave up on it.

I've been moving
right along ...

More progress on the
quilt block pattern, too.

I'm liking these colors!

After awhile I get
a rhythm going +
don't want to put
the project down.

locker hooking

Back in November, GF Mel + I
took a locker hooking class.

This is my project (so far).
I like the pastel colors - maybe I should have chosen
holiday colors, like red, green, fancy gold material.

Maybe next time!

I learned a lot in the class
+ have enjoyed watching this pattern grow.

-------- My youngest son is allowing me to use his digital camera as mine seems to have finally bit the dust. Maybe Santa will toss one down the chimney this month!

some progress

A Sampler Pinkeep
A few more stitches into this project
I can only manage over-one stitching for an hour
at a time. Then I have to quit.
It is a challenge.

I found the DMC Stitch Pink Needlework Accessory Kit today.
It was at the large JoAnn Fabrics store.

There are pink
floss bobbins
scissors
needle threader
and charts inside a pink case (zips shut).
With a coupon, not too bad of a deal.

As for the locker hooking,
I had a few e-mails and questions.
This is the book I have.
It is by Theresa Pulido .
Supplies can be found at local
craft stores and on-line.
You need latch hook/rug canvas, fabric cut in strips,
locker hook, and yarn needle.
There are videos on line to
explain the process.

close-up pictures

Suzanne, blogging at
Squazi and The Chickens asked me about the stitching on this project.
I stitched it together using an uneven cross stitch. Hope the close up photo helps.

In case the background looked familiar ...

yes, I did complete my locker hooking project

moving right along

I was almost finished and ran out of dk blue fabric.
I called The Quilt Shop where I purchased the kit.
And, I am sending the extra red fabric to swap for blue fabric.
Once I get the blue, I'll finish this up.
Locker hooking is a terrific was to use up fabrics.
Once you get the edge and the first row in, the other areas work up quickly.

A few nice free patterns HERE for locker hooking.

A nice blog, Color Crazy , too.

Making progress

Started this locker hooking project around 10pm --
made excellent progress so far.
Now I'm worried about not having enough fabric.
Hope to finish up tomorrow .... errr .... later today.

How are my other happy hooking pals doing on their projects????
