Q & A + little bit of stitching

I stitched one motif
on the Pins & Tulips Pincushion pattern
from the Thank You, Sarah Tobias book
(Blackbird Designs)

I'm using DMC floss
and enjoying this design

I received a few e-mails about this pattern

This comes in THREE different colors
(Belle Soie silk from Crescent Colours):
Rosebud (pink)
Kiwi (green)
Babbling Brook (blue)

Each chart has both the
BOX LID and BAG
directions

the pattern has options in
28ct, 32ct, 36ct & 40ct fabric

I thought I'd go into the store for the green
and when I saw all three, I chose the blue & pink!
I selected 32ct Bo Peep belfast for the pink
and
32ct cream linen for the blue

I probably will make box lid; however, if I do make a bag
I'd stitch the square & sew it onto some material

I thought the fringe with buttons was clever!

Blackbird Design Fans SAL - week 3

Thank You, Sarah Tobias

Blackbird Design Fans Yahoo group SAL continues (week three). I didn't stitch much this week! Maybe I'll get a couple more motifs stitched & made up into something special for week 4 : )

Blackbird Designs, Book SAL

The Blackbird Design Fans yahoo group is in the process of a Book SAL. Details HERE. My photos are not great. The pieces in-hand look lovely!
Motif on rose-colour linen, it is cloudy & maybe I can get an improved photo of the linen colour on a sunny day.

Motifs on ivory color linen scraps

I chose Sarah Tobias, the book with antique Pennsylvania Dutch sampler on the cover. There are several projects in the book; however, I decided to stitch individual motifs on linen scraps. I hope to finish them into small scissor fobs, pincushions, pinkeeps, or something. IMO-the motifs are quite charming!

I'm using DMC floss

Thx for your suggestions re. my perculating rash!! I'm having success with Zanfel wash and Benadryl Itch stopping Gel. Both are for Poison Ivy, Oak & Sumac. I'm about 80% certain it was Poison Sumac. I was wearing gloves in the garden so my fingers are clear -- wrists & forearms & lower legs kinda yukky. I have since purchased a barrier product to apply before weeding. I just wish the blistering had a faster healing process as I continue to find new 'spots' every day!
