"The FIFTH and final One World One Heart
will begin on SUNDAY NIGHT January 30TH
(MIDNIGHT THE END OF THE 30TH)
and run until February 17, 2011
(when winners are posted / announced).
One World One Heart is a
worldwide event for bloggers only.
It gives all those who blog a chance to meet
and mingle and form connections with those
they may not have otherwise met from all over the world.
In the past 4 years this event has grown
to over 1,000 participants
with lasting friendships
(and even one love connection)
formed along the way.
Think of it as a GIGANTIC open house
allowing you to travel
without ever leaving your home........
going from blog to blog
(in various countries)
seeing the wonder each one has created
and meeting all the fabulous people
behind those blogs.
As a bonus each blogger participant
will offer up a "door prize or prizes"....
just for dropping by,
saying hello and seeing their world.
It's really that easy."

Owl Winder Pocket
Just Nan
Aren't I the lucky one?
My GF Beth (w/o blog)
made this + gave it to me.
I enjoy having it
with my stitching
supplies!
I have not wound any fibers
on the owl - it is too pretty!
I noticed Anna, blogging at
Stitch Bitch
has this project
in her 2011 challenge.
Please give a warm welcome to

The unidentified ornament, made by my Mom
photo in
this post
was from a Janlynn Corporation pattern
called
Quilt block Banners
c.1988
Designed by Alice Okon
I found Free Patterns
designed by Alice Okon; however,
didn't locate the Quilt Block Banners
------
I was asked about the linen and fiber
I'm using in
Mary Hannah Gipson sampler ...
The fiber is -- Simply Shaker
Wood Trail.
I've given it a nickname: Trail Mix
.... I started with three skeins + one skein
has already gone missing.
(Yeah, I know)
The linen is
24/29 ct Muffin Glenshee
The uneven linen gives
the 'x' a bit of an oblong
look - I don't notice
the difference as I'm stitching.
When I finish a section + look at it,
that is when I notice the 'x' a bit
taller.
1836 Mary Hannah Gipson Sampler
Reproduced by Ruth Ann Russell of C Street Samplerworks
I couldn't find scroll bars, stitched sampler in a q-snaps.
Have the alphabet started -- the borders are moving along.
(I just wish the GAST were not pre-cut)
I don't notice the uneven weave. Stitching seems the same on even weave and uneven weave.
I was trying to find the right
size scroll bars .... would like to get the linen
ready to begin stitching.
These are the fibers + linen
my boyz gave me to stitch
the Mary Hannah Gipson sampler.
(photo above)
(see this post for pictures + info)
the pattern is in the recent
Winter SAN-Q magazine ...
If you are interested in the pattern,
I noticed
the Needleprint Blog
is giving away a copy of
Winter - SAN-Q magazine

I Spy a New Year's Giveaway.

BlackBird Designs c.2008
Buttons + Pins
I was looking for a WIP + pulled this one out of the 'stack'.
I had seen this all stitched up at
Inspired Needle
and HAD to buy the pattern + ingredients right away.
So, I wondered how long it had been sitting in my stitching basket.
I looked on my blog, according to this blog post,
I last added stitches on 11 January 2010.
As I picked up my linen and fibers, I enjoyed finishing up the outside border of diamond shapes.
The basket is made with chain stitches.
Flowers are made with buttonhole stitches.

Ornament made by Mom for DS
GF Beth (w/o blog) gave me this beautiful, stitched ornament
+ I hung it up in front of the left window
I noticed our cat eyeing the RED ribbon!
Couldn't keep her away from the ornament
Doesn't she look innocent?
I switched ornaments I had hanging from the windows.
+ now, the cat has her eye on a beautiful glass
friendship angel (from GF Sue w/o blog).
Perhaps I need to re-think hanging things in the window!!!
EDITED: January 23, 2011
Ornament made by my Mom
I'm unsure the designer
I'll have to ask her!
I checked with my Mom, she has an older janlynn pattern.
