-------------------- Note:  nope, didn't add non-skid pieces to the slippers.   A very good idea.   These, I use as I am putting my feet up to knit or view television.

Onesie

Going on a hunt for supplies .... I realized that there are a few onsies in my knitting projects.    These need to be PAIRS.

Mosaic knitting.   Project bags.  This was a LNS class & I had enough left overs to create a 2nd bag.   One finished, and one WIP.   (IMO:  It is a GREAT way to use up bits of yarns, multiple colors.)    Pattern is by Cindy Walker 'Mosaic Bag'

This was a LNS project.   Knit mittens in a day with bulky yarn.   Only, it took me longer to get just ONE and I didn't start the 2nd one (yet).   Class/Pattern called "All Day Mitten"

Froze Toes Slippers, pattern by Kristin McDonnell.  Uses (left over) blanket yarn by BERNAT.   I did put the 2nd slipper on knitting needles.  These need to be done and put to use this winter.

This is another LNS class.  It is a toe-up sock class that I struggled with.   Yet, my 2nd sock is nearly there.   Another good project to finish up this winter.

I hope any of you reading this post, with ONE of two -- or projects 50% complete -- can get back into the groove and enjoy finishing!!!

VanGogh in America

Yesterday, DH + I visited Detroit, Michigan.  The weather was rain (not snow and ice), so we viewed the

While there were MANY beautiful works, the Starry Night (Starry Night over the Rhone), 1888 on loan from Paris (Musee d'Orsay) was a favourite.

And, at the exhibit entrance, we were gifted a wonderful program:
This guide had photos and information re. 28 of the works on view.  There was a $50 catalog available in the gift store, but this program guide was appreciated!

Per the webpage:    "See Van Gogh in Detroit with the exhibition Van Gogh in America, which celebrates the Detroit Institute of Art’s status as the first public museum in the United States to purchase a painting by Vincent van Gogh, his Self-Portrait (1887).

On the 100th anniversary of its acquisition, experience 74 authentic Van Gogh works from around the world and discover the fascinating story of America’s introduction to this iconic artist, in an exhibition only at the DIA."

Before our entry time, we visited the Vincent pop-up on the 2nd floor.  Cozy Cafe for wine and sandwich.   In the hallway, DH spotted Sea Boots by Andrew Wyeth.

Look at this -- Self portraits of Andy Warhol, by Andy Warhol.

The small exhibit, right off the main Diego Rivera court was VanGogh's Artistic Roots.

(12 paintings).  Really nice exhibit.

Going to Pasture by Anton Mauve.

Still life with Sunflower by Piet Mondrian.

We enjoyed visiting and wandering the galleries.

5K: 2023 Resolution Run

 Cannot resist the rabbit!

 DH & I.

Foggy, 45 degrees!

So nice to be off the treadmill & outdoors.  The fitness center is ok for severe weather and late night cardio workouts.    I'm so lucky to have DH accompany me to these races.
