Pamela: There are two coasters in this kit. And, I see what you mean about "numbers". Most kits are five coasters - I didn't notice until you made mention.
I don't know if I have a special thimble - I'm guessing I can use a sewing thimble.

Thank you for the call out! A sashiko thimble is worn on the palm side to push the needle from the inside of the hand rather than the end of the finger. The Olympus website has a leather one for sale. There are also some YouTube videos showing how to make a sashiko thimble. I look forward to seeing your progress on the coasters!
