Textile Exhibit


MATERIAL WORLD

Paul Textile Gallery;
"From court dress to couture, the objects in Material World will feature extravagant ornamentation of textiles and personal adornment from cultures around the world while highlighting the significance of textiles in displaying wealth, status and power. The exhibition will showcase items adorned with luxurious materials including gold and metallic threads, beads, shells, mirrors, semi-precious stones, bones, fur and feathers, ranging from a Buddhist bone apron to Dior and Chanel couture pieces, spanning several centuries to the present day"

From Chicago
Take I-65 south to Martin Luther King Jr. Street (exit 117). Turn left (north) onto Martin Luther King Jr. Street and go about 1.1. miles, continuing north through the intersection at 38th Street. Note that north of 38th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Street becomes Michigan Road. Turn left at the traffic light at 4000 Michigan Road into the IMA grounds.

Tuesday - 11 am to 5 pm
Wednesday - 11 am to 5 pm
Thursday - 11 am to 9 pm
Friday - 11 am to 9 pm
Saturday - 11 am to 5 pm
Sunday - noon to 5 pm
Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
